These interviews were conducted over the course of a semester by various members of the project. The primary goal of the interviews was to hear the life stories of Southern trans people and learn more about how the community perceives them. We avoided asking the participants leading questions that reduced them just to their trans identity or their struggles. Rather than seeing them for a singular part of who they are, we wanted to learn about the whole person. These interviews, accompanied by a transcript, have been made available so you can learn more about the people we interviewed, and have access to the materials we used to create this project.
